Beast and other Stars Face-off in the National Idol Sports Championships

Korea’s top idol stars gather together to face off in the National Idol Sports Championships in honour of their hometowns.

Kikwang, T-ara’s Jiyeon, 4Minute’s HyunA and other idol stars consisting of 48 participants in total took part in KBS’s National Idol Sports Championships held on the 20th of April at Bucheon Stadium.

These 48 idol stars were divided into teams depending on their hometowns like Seoul Team, Gyeonggi Team, Kangwon Chuncheon Team, Cheolla Jeju team and many more. They competed in various events ranging from physical fitness to athletic sports.

Participants who competed that day come from Beast, MBLAQ, 4Minute, T-ara, Sistar, Miss A, Z:EA, Teen Top, Dalmatian, Dalshabet , Jewelry and more. Lee Hyun , Tim and Kim Sang Hyuk also took part.

Events included sit ups and holding on to horizontal bars for the longest time. These events bring back school day memories. There were also 50 m dash events, inline skating and relay races. Idols participating showed off true competitive spirit ,all hoping to win a medal.

Although they do not come from the same groups, they come from the same hometowns. This made the idols show stronger friendship towards each other and give each other moral support. This touching scene became a positive topic of discussion after the recording.

With the desire for victory and competitive spirit of 48 idols, along with hosts Park Myung Soo, Kim Shin Young, Kim Tae Hyun and KBS announcer Lee Kwang Yong, this program has been made even more interesting.

The National Idol Sports Championships will be broadcasted on the 30th of April at 5.10 PM KST.

Digital Single Released Featuring Doojoon, Junhyung and Kikwang

Earlier this week, YoSeob tweeted that they were recording a new song for B2UTIES. He even posted a pic of them recording in the studio.


Talented composer Shinsadong Tiger is the man behind the said digital single which is entitled "Should I Hug You or Not" which features three B2ST members: Doojoon, Junhyung and Kikwang. And this is just half of the said album. The album is entitled is Supermarket: The Half. 


The music video that was released features the dance group Prepix, who were the master choreographers of B2ST dance from the past.

BEAST Japan Shows Re-scheduled on May

As announced before, BEAST planned to hold 2 special event for their Japan debut last March but it was postponed due due to the earthquake and tsunami that stroke Japan.

But yesterday, it has been announced that BEAST will hold these 2 events this coming May.

Tokyo (scheduled to be held at Yokohama) –> Friday, May 13th 2011

Osaka –> Sunday, May 15th 2011

The details of the venue and time will be announced at BEAST Japan Official Website which is still under construction.

FC Men Won Another Game with JYJ's Junsu, Doojoon and 2AM's Seulong

On the 24th of April, celebrity soccer team FC MEN took home a 5-0 win in the opening game against the Incheon Design High School’s female soccer team.

In attendance of the game are the regulars JYJ's Junsu, Kim HyunJoong and Doojoon. Unfortunately, Kikwang cannot play the game that day due to Inkigayo commitments which was held in Jeju Islands. But 2AM's Seulong came in for his first game. Still expected by fans to participate is Yoseob, who has been pretty busy with other commitments and was not able to attend practices and games itself. 

JYJ’s Junsu, who was chosen as the MVP of the day, commented, “It was our first time being on ground of an official stadium. First and foremost, I’m glad that no one was injured today. It was because of the support of our fans that we were able to achieve such great results.”

The FC MEN also participated in the “Love Auction” charity by putting their uniforms up for auction on the 15th. All proceeds were donated to the Social Welfare Society, and Junsu has expressed that he will continue to actively participate in more charitable events.

Yoseob Excites B2UTIES in Their Upcoming Album

In Yoseob's tweet last April 23, Yoseob did give a hint to the fans that they are recording. He said, “We started recording for B2ST’s title song. I hope you all get nervous and anticipate for this. It’s really big. Anyways, B2ST members really like snacking“.

He then uploaded this exclusive picture, which revealed the members taking a break in the recording room. On the table in front of them are various snacks and drinks.

Meanwhile, B2ST is set to perform at ‘Super Triple Concert‘ with December and IU at Busan’s BEXCO on April 30th.

Beast will be Attending the Dream Concert 2011 along with Other Big Kpop Stars

The Korean Entertainment Producers’ Association’s “2011 Dream Concert” will be opening for the 17th year on May 28th at the Seoul World Cup Stadium!

Beast would be one of those who are expected to perform along with label mates 4minute and G.Na .

Other idols expected to perform are TVXQ, SNSD, Super Junior, 2PM, IU, MBLAQ, Shinee, 2AM, CN Blue and many others. Free entry tickets were given out on April 7th for the 25,000 member audience, and just a week before the official close date, all seats have already been filled.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will also be working with the Korea Copyright Commission for a special “Copyright Protection Campaign” at the event.

The Greeting Song by B2ST and 4Minute for Inkigayo Jeju Island Special Episode

The “Super Concert Wonderful Jeju” special for SBS’s “Inkigayo“ was held last Sunday April 24 and Cube labelmates B2ST and 4minute teamed up for a collaboration music video promoting Jeju Island. 

This said video was recorded by the 2 groups some weeks ago.

With the beautiful natural scenery of the island as their backdrop, the two groups sang an adorable song for the island to both raise awareness and promote tourism towards the island.

Members also greeted fans of different countries like Japan and France, before finally concluding with “Welcome to Korea!”

Kikwang and Hyosung Parodied Famous Sit-up Scene From Secret Garden

On the 22nd episode of 100 Points out of 100, Kikwang and SECRET’s Hyosung guested and parodied the famous sit-up scene from the hit drama series,  “Secret Garden“.

Because Kikwang had always named Hyosung as his ideal woman, cast members were more than happy to pair the two together. Although Hyosung agreed to the parody, she still expressed her shyness by keeping a fair of amount of distance from Kikwang once the scene began rolling.

MC Park Kyung Lim, frustrated by the slow development of pace, abruptly cut them off and asked Hyosung to inch in closer. Despite her lead, the couple failed to close the gap any further, leading MC Kim Shin Young to jump in and add, “If you’re that far apart, how are you going to hear his heart beat?”

On April 22nd, Super Junior’s Heechul, Junhyung, and Supreme Team’s Simon D showed off their close friendship through a photo.

Heechul tweeted, “I’m over at Simon D’s with YongYong. I’m not even kidding, we’re always just hanging out with only men, talk about male loyalty. Poor YongYong, he can only ever hang out with men because of me.”

In the picture, netizens can see the three sitting in the couch with Heechul wearing a spongebob socks.

This is not the first time Heechul posted a photo of him hanging around with Junhyung. Previously, he posted another one but it was with Epik High's Mithra (April 18th) and another on April 13th together with Mithra again and FT Island's Lee Hongki. 

These boys have developed their friendship for some months already and even call their groups before as choco boys. In absence is actor Jang Jeun Seuk who is currently promoting his album around Korea and Asia but he used to hang out with them before as well.

Hayoung + Dongwoon = Cube Entertainment Maknaes

On April 22nd, Doojoon uploaded a picture in his Yfrog with the message, “Our maknae and A Pink’s maknae look like siblings kekekeke.”

A Pink's Hayoung and Dongwoon can be seen holding up peace signs side by side in the accompanying picture. 

Beast has been giving their all out support to this girl group since it's debut last week. A Pink is under A Cube Entertainment which is a subsidiary company of CUBE Entertainment to which Superstar K Grand winner Huh Gak is also under contract.

BEAST Included as One of the Favorite Idol Groups in Korea

Among the Korean general public, it is very common to take a poll that asks for participants to name their favorite singer or actor.  Recently, Korea’s Market and Research Survey Institute conducted one such survey from March 25-31 in 5 major cities: Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon.

1321 individuals took the survey who’s ages ranged from 13-65.  They were asked to name their favorite male singer, female singer, male actor, and female actor.  The response may surprise you!

The top ranked male singer is Lee Seung Gi with 14.3% of the votes, taking the victory from Big Bangwho had 12.9%.  Following Big Bang was 2PM with 10.9%, Kim Gun Mo with 7.3%, Yoon Do Hyunwith 7.3%, 2AM with 7%, Kim Bum Soo with 6.1%, Jung Yeob with 6.1%, B2ST with 5.5%, and Rain with 5.3%.

Although they were not on top, having voted still in the survey is such a breakthrough for an artist like them, who just debuted not too long ago.
