비스트가 '3초 가수' 탈피 의지를 밝혔다.
비스트는 최근 정규 1집 '픽션 앤 팩트'를 발표, 타이틀곡 '픽션'과 발라드 수록곡 '비가 오는 날엔'으로 인기몰이중이다. '픽션'은 사랑하는 사람과의 이별을 받아들이지 못하는 남자의 애절한 마음을 담아낸 노래로, 보컬 및 멜로디 라인을 강조해 '숨' '쇼크' 등 기존 히트곡과는 또다른 매력을 선사한다. 특히 가성과 진성을 자유자재로 넘나드는 멤버들의 모습에 '역시 비스트' '진정한 실력파' '노래 실력이 더 좋아진 것 같다'는 호평도 쏟아지고 있다.
이에 대해 멤버 양요섭은 "'3초 가수'라는 편견을 깨고 싶었다"고 밝혔다. '3초 가수'란 최근 아이돌 그룹 멤버수가 늘어나고, 노래를 잘하는 특정 멤버에게 파트가 집중되면서 일부 멤버들은 무대에서 노래 부르는 시간이 3초 밖에 되지 않는 현상을 풍자한 말이다.
그는 "그룹은 어느 한 멤버에게 파트가 치중될 수 밖에 없다. 3초 가수라는 말까지 생기고 있다. 이번엔 정규 앨범이기도 하고 멤버들 모두 라이브 실력을 갖췄다는 것을 보여드리고 싶었다"고 말했다. 이어 "정말 열심히 연습했고 실력도 많이 늘었다. 특히 동운이가 노래 실력이 눈에 띄게 많이 늘었다"며 "발전된 모습을 보여드리기 위해 이번엔 파트도 될 수 있으면 균등하게 나누려 노력했다. 다른 멤버들의 목소리를 더 많이 들으실 수 있을 것"이라고 설명했다.
