B2ST - Recycled Group, No More

If you were following the career of the B2ST members from the start, you might not be surprised anymore of the term 'recycled'. That is how many of the other entertainment company people used to call them. Most of the members were trainees under JYP Entertainment and Jang HyunSeung was the last supposed member who didn't make it up for the well-known group of YG Entertainment's Big Bang.

Part of their history is being used to the trademark as scrap or rejects as they see their other co-trainees debut one-by-one, they were left out in the studio, still as trainees. Yang YoSeob was the member who had the longest stay as a trainee, which is 7 years.

In the beginning, when they were put in JYP Entertainment's sister company CUBE Entertainment, handled by Mr. Hong Seung Sung, it was the talented Lee KiKwang or better known as AJ was the first to debut as a solo artist. In his promotions, four members: Yoon Doo Joon, Jang HyunSeung, Yang YoSeob and Yong JunHyung were his back-up dancers.

Upon careful planning by the management and Mr. Hong convincing himself that there's a chance that these talented guys could be huge stars one day, they added one more member, in the person of Son DongWoon and have the group debut with the name of BEAST (Boys of the East standing Tall) and later on change the name into B2ST (Boys to Search for Top), which is quite more fit for the group's talent and skills.

They soon promoted their 1st mini-album and catch some audience attention. But the trademark of being a 'recycled' group did not leave them. And soon they had gotten used to it and treat the word like either a joke or something that challenges day from day 1 of their debut as BEAST up to the eve of their 1st independent concert in Seoul "Beast Airlines" last Sunday, December 12.

During the press conference held an hour before the said event, each member expressed their gratefulness to the year that passed that they were able to released so many albums in just a short span of time and even sold more than 100,000 albums in their rookie year.

Some video clips were shown during their concert that shows where they had began, the hardships and painful moments of their trainee days. Phrases of determination and challenge were flashing one by one. These were the ones that served as their guidance for them to continue to go on, no matter what.

B2ST members can't hold back their tears as they watch, most especially when the video clip of their parents' dedication came out.

They felt that it was about time that they move on from being called as a 'recycled' group and to be known as a 'rediscovered' group.

Surpassing the many struggles and wounds, B2ST has definitely proven themselves and has made a unique mark in the entertainment world.

Remembering a song from an animated movie years back, there are these lines, "There can be miracles, when you believe". The author truly believes that these are the exact words to describe their journey as idols.
