It has been known that BEAST had recently gone down to warm and windy weathers of Jeju Island to film a special for SBS Inkigayo that is raising attention from the netizens. In a recent picture circling around the internet, three of the members: Doojoon, Yoseob, and Kikwang were spotted dressed in a familiar long jacket and scarves decorated with the colors red and gold, green and sliver, and yellow and black. Next to them were the other three other members: Junhyung, Dongwoon and Hyunseung covered in pearl white makeup and pink lips that were meant to devour. Sounds familiar yet?
A representative from SBS Inkigayo had stated through an interview, “We are taking BEAST to a new level by turning them into Harry Potter wizards and Twilight vampires for our special show coming up this week. Realizing how much the Harry Potter and Twilight series had grown to attract various fans, we hope that this will help them attract even more fans not just in Korea, but in other countries as well.” The management staff of SBS Inkigayo has also stated that they have plans to change their whole program system by May where they will have a 5 minute short show segments where idols will have the chance to act out scenes from various popular novels, fanfiction, and manga. Some of these including the popular mangas like Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, and Naruto. The ‘nation’s boy friend idol’ Doojoon stated, “I’m glad that BEAST was given this magnificent chance. Perhaps through this, I will be able to rise as the ‘Harry Potter’ idol.”
To this new policy netizens commented, “I am really excited that BEAST will be the first idols testing this out,” “I can’t wait to see wizards and vampires have a showdown in my TV now,” and “Hopefully these little segments will develop into bigger things and be made into movies.”
